Why this policy exists
Portfolios published with CV One are read by recruiters, clients and colleagues who rely on them. This policy keeps the service trustworthy and safe for everyone. It applies to your account, your content, your published portfolios and the files you upload, and it is part of our Terms of Service.
Be honest about your experience
A portfolio represents you professionally. Do not:
- claim degrees, certifications, employers, job titles, projects or results you do not have;
- present other people’s work as your own;
- pretend to be another person, company or organization, or suggest a connection that does not exist;
- use a username or portfolio that is designed to mislead visitors.
Content that is not allowed
Do not publish, upload or share content that:
- is illegal, or promotes or helps with illegal activity;
- sexually exploits or endangers children in any way;
- is sexually explicit or pornographic;
- threatens, harasses, bullies or incites violence against anyone;
- promotes hatred or discrimination based on characteristics such as race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation or nationality;
- shares other people’s personal information, such as contact details, addresses or documents, without their permission;
- infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark or other rights;
- is false or misleading in a way that could harm others, such as fraudulent offers or fake job postings.
Misuse of the service
Do not:
- upload malware, or files designed to harm devices or systems;
- use CV One for spam, phishing, scams or to collect other people’s information;
- upload someone else’s CV, or use the CV import with documents you are not allowed to use;
- create multiple accounts, or share accounts, to get around plan limits or a suspension;
- interfere with, overload or disrupt the service, or try to get around its limits;
- access accounts, portfolios or data that are not yours, or test our security without our written permission;
- copy, scrape or harvest content or data from the service or other users’ portfolios by automated means, except as allowed by our robots.txt for search engines;
- copy, resell or redistribute our templates or software.
Reporting a problem
If you see a portfolio or content that breaks this policy, or you believe your rights have been infringed, contact us using the details at the end of this page. Please include the portfolio address and describe the problem. To report a security issue, contact us before disclosing it publicly.
What we do when this policy is broken
Depending on how serious the problem is, we may:
- ask you to change or remove content;
- remove content or files;
- restrict a portfolio so it is no longer publicly available;
- suspend or close an account;
- report illegal content to the authorities where required.
Where reasonable, we will explain what we did and why, and give you a chance to respond. We may act without notice when there is a risk of harm, or when the law requires it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. We will change the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, let you know before they take effect.
